America’s Square | 51 Louisiana Avenue & 300 New Jersey Avenue

Mr. Duffy’s involvement with this historic asset dates back to the original sale of 51 Louisiana Avenue (the local headquarters of law firm Jones Day) from Acacia Life to JBG Smith. With guidance from Mr. Duffy, JBG Smith was able to negotiate with Jones Day to secure its commitment to expand into a new building to be connected via a glass atrium to the original historic building. Sir Richard Rogers was the selected architect, and the result is the iconic ultra-trophy 300 New Jersey Avenue. Mr. Duffy then represented JBG Smith in the sale of America’s Square to Dweck Properties. A few years later Dweck Properties decided to rebalance their portfolio towards multi-family. Mr. Duffy then conducted a global marketing campaign whereby Jamestown was selected as the buyer at a price of $506,500.00 which was the highest price per square foot at that time in Washington D.C.
